On November 2nd, Nintendo introduced Team Rainbow Rocket, a battle mode which allows players to challenge the primary villains of previous games (shown below, right). On October 5th, 2017, Nintendo released a trailer showing new Ultra Beasts, marking the first time a same-gen Pokémon game added new Pokémon (shown below, left). Some Pokémon have been given new forms and major characters including Gladion and Lillie being redesigned. The game takes place in a parallel universe of the Alola region and will have a slightly altered plot focused on the legendary Pokémon Necrozma, which has darkened the entire region by robbing it of its light sources. Your goal is to leave Mimikyu with as little HP as possible, aiming.

The game's first trailer was revealed at Nintendo Direct on September 13th, 2017 (shown below). Use a Pokemon closer in level with Mimikyu to avoid dealing too much damage in one attack, or simply use weaker attacks overall. In June of 2017, Nintendo announced Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, successors to Sun and Moon with a modified story mode and added features, similar to what Pokémon Yellow was for the first generation of games and Platinum was to the fourth generation.
